Miguel Ricardo R. Leung, TOBS 2011, has been selected as one of the finalists of the 5th Asia-Pacific Region’s Award for Outstanding Scouts 2012. Together with four other finalists from Australia, Hong Kong, Korea and Sri Lanka, Leung will undergo the final interview before a selection panel during the APR Scout Conference in November 2012 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The finalists will be evaluated based on their major accomplishments and general knowledge in Scouting, academic performance and community involvement. From among the finalists, the judges will identify the three regional winners and two runners-up. The winners will each receive US$400, an outstanding Asia-Pacific Scout medallion and badge and a citation.
Since the APR Search's introduction in 2001, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines has always been included in the search finals. Past awardees are Marvin Boni Ang G. Go (2001), Glenn Niño M. Sartillo (2004), Bruce Willis W. Sing (2007) and Harrison E. Bautista (runner-up, 2009).
